It’s Freezing Outside but Habana is Smokin!

January is historically a time for us to catch up…but not this year!  We have all kinds of new stuff coming in every day.  We just got in these new cigars called Hammer and Sickle.  This is the first “shot” at cigars by the makers of Hammer and Sickle Vodka.  This cigar has a 5 year aged Connecticut wrapper with 3 year old filler from the Dominican Republic. The result is a smooth creamy smoke with slight hints of pepper.  They market themselves as a Super Premium and we are having a special event with them very soon. Remember to check out the New Arrivals page to see what’s new in our humidor!

We have ordered the Victorinox knives (the real Swiss Army) and they should be here shortly.  These knives will all be discounted 20% and are the real deal!  Look for our new line of Colibri men’s accessories.  We also have two new pen lines coming and are diligently looking for new fresh products for gift giving.

Our big news is that we are now a Dunhill Pipe Dealer!!  Dunhill pipes are only sold at the finest stores in country.  This “franchise” is very exciting for us and we look forward to carrying a lot of their accessory items too.  Our Dunhill Boutique will be set up during the week and we look forward to our first Dunhill Pipe Day!

Speaking of pipes…if you’re a pipe smoker, you should consider joining our pipe club.  We are the Capital District Pipe Club.  We host all kinds of events and activities.  We meet once a month at a variety of locations (mostly the Albany Habana) and have hosted pipe shows and pipe dinners,  In fact, I am currently working on a pipe dinner for February or March’s Meeting.  We are going on a field trip Saturday to the Kaywoodie factory.  Check out www.capitaldistrictpipeclub.com

Everyone knows about Haiti.  Well, remember those Operation Hope Event we sponsored in November?  We sold Montecristo gift packs where we gave our profit to the charity.  Well they donated $25,000 to Haiti to help with relief efforts.  Francisco is from neighboring Dominican Republic and we sold 25 cigars at $10 a piece and we added some money ourselves and we sent to the Red Cross $400 from Habana and our customers to help with relief efforts.  A lot of Haitians work in cigar factories in the DR.  They live in barracks all week and then go home on the weekends. Our hearts and prayers go to the citizens and we know they have the resolve to move on and continue to rebuild.

We are also looking to rid ourselves of excess inventory so keep your eyes peeled for discounted packs of cigars peppered throughout the humidor!  Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list so you can print a coupon for 20% OFF ANY PURCHASE.  We will be sending a lot of coupons in the upcoming months because we want to reward our frequent customers!

We also would like to ask you to email us pictures of you smoking cigars for our website.  If you went to an event (ours or anyone elses), sitting at home, or on the road, please send it to me and I will forward it to our Web Mistress for upload to HabanaHappenings.com.

Keep an eye on our news blog to check out some of our upcoming events and promotions.

As always…
